Welcome to A Year of Card Techniques Blog Hop where each month we’ll feature a different card technique. We’ve assembled a team of fabulous card makers who range from new to advanced, so you’ll see a wide variety of cards and ideas.
The month of April features a Showdown! A stamp set showdown, that is. We’re using one stamp set in various ways. Let’s face it, stamp sets are getting more and more expensive; so we’re here to inspire you by demonstrating how to s-t-r-e-t-c-h those stamps!
If you would like to check out our past technique hops, you can do that here:
We have an amazing sponsor this month, Wilma Payne of Fun Stamper's Journey:

I chose to use the April stamp set of the month, Flock Together from Close to my Heart.  I had a lot of fun with it.  All of the products I used can be found in the current seasonal idea book.  Seasonal expressions 1.

My first card I am calling #hello!  I used papers from the Some Kind of Wonderful pack.  I stamped the love this in black punched it out and popped it up with our thin foam tape.  I stamped the 3 hearts and the small bird directly on the paper, which is one of our cut apart sheets.

I'm calling this card we are blessed.  I used the Some kind of Wonderful paper pack on this one too.  I stamped the 3 small birds in Whisper ink and colored them in with our ShinHan markers.  I popped up the birds with our thin foam tape.

This card is called Together!  I just love this one!   I stamped the birds in black on one of the cut apart cards from the Sugar Rush Pack (It is light pink) and I cut them out.  I stamped the TOGETHER is the best place to be on the pink patterned paper and popped up the birds with thin foam tape on the gray patterned paper.  These are both from the Sugar Rush pack too.  I layered the patterned paper on black and used the thin foam tape and popped up the black piece.  I just love our thin foam tape.

My last card, So Happy Together is layered on raspberry and canary and stamped with blossom and sorbet.  I stamped the 3 hearts in raspberry, blossom, smoothie, sorbet, saffron and canary to create my background paper. I used thin foam tape to pop up the So Happy together.

I hope you liked my cards.  All the products I used are from Close to my Heart.  Please let me know if you want to know more about some of the products I used.

  2. I love the colors you chose for your cards - the colors with the great images really pop! I like all of them, but I think the one you labeled "Together" is really special. That touch of pink with the black is lovely.
