Beautiful new products for May and June!

Welcome to Spring in Michigan!  It certainly has been an interesting spring so far!  We had a beautiful day here in Mid-Michigan yesterday!  I got the vegetable garden ready for planting, we had a new roof put on and my husband worked on putting new lattice around the deck!  It was about 70 degrees out and sunny!  Perfect day for all of those things!

Now at Close to my Heart we have a beautiful new idea book/ catalog out with some gorgeous new products!  We also celebrated National Scrapbooking Day with a 12 hour facebook live event over on CTMH's facebook page!  There are several video's up on their page so you can watch them any time.  The products used will be available while supplies last so I hope you will take a look!

Yesterday and Today!

Well April is here and in mid Michigan we finally had a couple days of nice weather.  I got outside and did a little garden clean up.  What have you been doing while cooped up at home?

Today I want to share Close to my Hearts paper pack and accessories "Yesterday and Today".  I have made a couple of layouts and a few cards.  I just love to scrapbook old photos.  They always look so elegant.  I have not put any photos on my layouts yet.  I have some boxes to go through to find just the right ones.  Take a look!

Isn't this just beautiful?  I just love it and once I put pictures on it, I will add some more flowers around them.  I will list the links and products that I used at the bottom of my post!

This next one I designed with our new Cricut Cartridge called Everyday Moments.

What do you think about this one?  I really think it is much prettier in person.  I added peach cardstock for some of the accents to give it a pop of color.  I will probably put 2 photos in the long section on the right.

If you have a Cricut Explore or Maker, you really need to check out this cartridge.  It is amazing.  It doesn't look like a lot when you first see it but you have to imagine all of the pieces that you ungroup and cut on there own.  Here is the link to buy it https://cricut.com/en_us/close-to-my-heart.html.

Now I will share the cards that I made with the yesterday and today and the March stamp of the month!

This one is using the March stamp of the month with some heat embossing and a little shimmer trim.

This one I used our shaker thin cuts, foam and acetate along with some sequins.

This last one is from our Yesterday and Today card Workshop your way kit.  You get everything you need to make 16 cards with envelopes.

I hope you enjoyed looking at my artwork.  You can still get most of these items through the end of April.  Check out the links below.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.  Be safe, stay home and scrapbook!

Distress Much?

No photo description available.

Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop where we feature Close To My Heart products in our creations. This month our theme is "Distressed much?" So it will be fun to see what the participants design to align with that topic.

If you are coming from  Haley's blog then you are on the right track. You will find a complete list of participants at the bottom of this post.  I hope you like what I have created for you and you will use some of these techniques in your next project!

I have created a Heritage type layout and it is based on the current paper suite called "Yesterday and Today".

Here is my layout!

The distressing techniques I used are using a distressing tool on the edges of the paper.  I really dig into it in some places to give it a torn look.  You might want to work over a waste basket!

I sprayed the flowers with a bit of water, crinkled them into a ball and then carefully put them back in shape.  Once they dried I used a sponge and ink pad and gave them some distressing color!

I also used the sponge and ink pad to distress the paper on my mats and the cardstock pieces.

I used the Stamp of the month to stamp on the two out side pieces!  "Family Legacy"

I just love this set!   It is only $5 with a $50 order!  Or you can buy it out right for $18.95.   It is only available during the Month of March!

I also used the Yesterday and Today Complement and Velum pieces which I may add more of them after I place my photo's .

Next it is on over to Lauren's blog to see what great distressing techniques she has for you!

I hope you enjoy this hop and have a great day!

Put your Green on!

So who isn't looking for a little green this month?  A little money (maybe tax refund) or how about our yards starting to green up!  I  certainly would love that.  I'm ready to go out and play!  Gardening is one of my post precious loves!  Who doesn't like a nice green lawn too?  I know my husband does!

I have decided to join the Heart 2 Heart Challenge this week with a really cute card!  This card is one of the cards that came in the current subscription box from CTMH!  It was a 3 x 4 card but I don't have a whole lot of use for that size so I gave it a nice face lift and made it a A4 size!

All I did is add a piece of black and a piece of Julep glitter card stock to a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card base.  I cut off half of the original base card which is the gray you see underneath the shaker heart.  The piece of white with the black dots is on foam squares on top of the black glitter paper!  I can't remember where the little black heart was supposed to go, but I liked it in the center of the shaker heart!  I glued 3 of the little confetti stars to the green banner!

Here is the inside of the card!

I don't like to waste cute little scraps so the heart on the left is the negative pieces from the front.  I stuck a piece of Julep glitter paper behind it!  I used the other half of the original small card and layered it with a piece of Julep card stock for my sentiment!

So that is it ,an easy and cute kind of pre-made card.  If you haven't checked out the CTMH subscription program yet, you really should.  It is truly a fantastic deal.  As little as $1.03 a card if you take into consideration that after the cards are done you still have a stamp set , a mini ink pad, an acrylic block, foam squares and left over confetti for shaker cards or embellishments!

Check out my link to the CTMH subscription service and please let me know if there is anything I can help you with!

Have a wonderful spring!

Oh my Heart!

Well, tomorrow is Valentines day!  So Happy Valentines Day everyone!  I sure hope you have a lot of LOVE in your life!

Today I want to share the CTMH Oh my Heart special.  To late?  No, I don't think so!  It is never to late to stock up on this beautiful suite!

First I want to share the projects I made with it.  I bought the paper pack with the sticker sheet.  I vowed to myself to use every sticker on the sheet and I almost succeeded.  I am only left with the borders and the sticker that is and envelope and I plan on making a shaker card with it.

Here are the cards I made!

Aren't they just so cute?

I made two layouts also that I am just in love with!  The first one is totally from the paper pack and sticker sheet that I modeled from the workshop.  I changed it up a bit.

This one I added the yellow flower paper from the current mix in paper.  I just love our mix in papers.  They are always so pretty and make your paper pack go a bit further.  This one also has some stickers left over from last years Valentine special.  I love how CTMH's products go together year after year.  There is always an opportunity to use something up!

I will be using this layout in the Heart 2 Heart Oh my Heart Challenge!  http://heart2heartchallenges.blogspot.com/2020/02/oh-my-heart.html

Here are the details on this paper suite!  https://paperdivas.closetomyheart.com/ctmh/promotions/campaigns/1912-oh-my-heart.aspx.  You can look at all of the options at the above link!

I hope you will visit my website today and get some of these beautiful products!

Have a great day and if you are in Michigan, happy shoveling!

Happy February! Spruced Up!

Well it is a new year and a new month!  What have you all been working on?  I made a couple of layouts with Close to my Hearts Spruced Up!  My Grandson and I went sledding in our side yard and I got some really great shots.  It was challenging with a 20 month old.  I don't want to say that I hope we get more snow but it would be fun to get out there one more time.  It has bee such a mild winter.  I think my Husband only used Frosty (snow blower) twice so far.

I have to get the photo's printed yet but here are the layouts I did.

On the first one I used Some of the stickers from the sticker sheet you can get with the paper pack.  The wooden snow flakes you can buy with an assorted pack to go with the paper pack.  I used Julep shimmer trim.  The picture mats are Julep and Sangria.  I also used stickles on the snow flakes to make them shimmer like snow.

On the Second one I used some stickers from the paper pack sheet, a couple of PML cards that match the pack and wooden shapes again.  I put some texture paste on the right side of the right page to make it look like snow and I placed the wood house and trees on them.  I painted the trees with the Julep shimmer brush, the snow flakes with the clear shimmer brush and the house I painted with our water brush and espresso ink.  I added texture paste to those pieces too!  I used French Vanilla under Espresso card stock for the mats on this one.

I hope you enjoyed my layouts and will come back and visit soon.  Visit my website for all of the supplies I used here!  paperdivas.ctmh.com.

Have a great day!
